July 26, 2024Whether you’ve spent a few years or all your life in Mumbai, her skyline will always leave you awe-struck. In a lineup of imposing glass and concrete structures, Lodha World Towers by one of the top builders in Mumbai is a signature and uniquely impressive sight, comprising three massive glass and steel towers that encapsulate the modern and ever-evolving spirit of the city.
However, what sets this residential project in Mumbai apart is its unique curvilinear shape and soaring height. The premises stretch across a sprawling 17 acres and are located on the Mumbai Mile - home to the city’s finest residences, commercial buildings, luxury hotels, and more. While Lodha World Towers are in the heart of the city and are well-connected to its landscape, its interiors are as breathtaking as its façade. Here’s a glimpse of a duplex apartment situated on the 39th floor of Lodha World Towers. At Lodha, we ensure that everything we do is crafted to perfection, with design excellence ingrained in every detail.
The Spectacular Spaces series pays tribute to the extraordinary homes within our developments, designed by India’s leading architects and designers. In the fourth episode of this series, we explore one of the designed by Jason Wadhwani, the Head of Jason Wadhwani Studio. He masterfully balanced an avant-garde aesthetic with the practical demands of creating a livable environment, transforming a monochrome palette into something bold and vibrant that imbues the surroundings with life.
New York-inspired Duplex Apartment with the Perfect Harmony of Art, Design and Luxury
Jason Wadhwani and his team used the client’s brief as the foundation upon which they could build a spectacular space. Since the client wanted it to be reminiscent of a New York apartment, Wadhwani and his team delivered just that with their signature stamp, of course! Wadhwani’s approach to the duplex can be encapsulated in three words: penthouse, contemporary and functional. The foyer of this penthouse in Mumbai features a fun and bold graphic wallpaper and an imposing flos light which is an ode to a grand entrance.
Moving into the expansive living and dining area, created by combining two apartments, Wadhwani and his team harnessed the abundant natural light to illuminate the space. A decorative light from DCW looms over the dining table, with curvature fixtures breaking up the clean lines predominant in the area. The duplex apartment features a neutral palette, largely monochromatic—right in Jason Wadhwani’s wheelhouse. However, the interior is peppered with pops of colour via art, fabrics, finishes, and an array of textural elements. For instance, a quirky abstract piece by artist Nidhi Agarwal adds vibrancy to an otherwise stark wall. Another white wall is mounted with an art installation by Nilesh Yogi. The installation comprises an arrangement of acrylic boxes containing miniature musical instruments made using paper. In shades of red and black, the installation stands out against the wall, literally!
Wadhwani and his team infuse the area with personality using key design elements like art, wallpapers, rugs, coffee table books and plants. Strategically placed, they help break up the contemporary grayscale aesthetic and bring in just the right amount of warmth. The master bedroom is an extension of the vision and features a statement colour palette, various materials and textures. While the rug and bed linen are hallmarks of Wadhwani’s monochrome aesthetic, the cabinets are overlaid with a layer of nano cement for an intentional unfinished look. A polished marble wall cladding underneath the cabinets makes for excellent textural contrast. An art piece packs a punch with various pops of colour while overhead and technical lights turn the bedroom into a place where luxury meets liveability.
This setting is the perfect amalgamation of colours, design elements, lighting, and layout. International in its ethos, this duplex at Lodha World Tower transports you to another location altogether yet feels just like home; exactly how Jason Wadhwani and his team intended.
Showcasing the elegance of this expansive flat in Worli, which reflects the designer's vision and fulfills the client's brief, this duplex apartment at Lodha World Towers is a remarkable combination of style and grandeur—truly a spectacular space
